Chocolate Chip Cookies

Responsible Cookie Person:  Naomi-san

Team Member:  Hesaki-san

Naomi-san, You will help Hesaki-san with his Date Nut Pinwheels first.  While the pinwheels are rolled and in the refrigerator, you will make the chocolate chip cookies.  After that, you will cut and bake the pinwheels. 

CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 

 

1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 measuring tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 measuring tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) package semi sweet chocolate morsels
 
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. in large bowl combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in Nestle Toll House semi sweet chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.

1 c. chopped walnuts (optional) We will not use nuts when we make them for the Fall Skater Porch Party, but you can use them in the future if you like.  You can substitute pecans or macadamia nuts if you like.

 

Makes: about 5 dozen, 2 1/4 inch cookies.
